Ming Tombs
MAY 26 -- Our second stop was the Ming Tombs, built
for the 13 emperors of the Ming Dynasty from 1368 to 1644. We
visited the Underground Palace of the 13th Ming Emperor, Zhu
Yijun. Not a palace at all, it was built to house the emperor
and his family in the afterlife. Read more about it on MyBeijingChina.
Trees pierce a 500 year old wall outside the tomb.

in."
